In a statement, SMS group said Nucor-JFE Steel Mexico’s continuous hot-dip line has the capacity to process 400,000 tons of hot- and cold-rolled strip annually. Geared toward automotive industry needs, the line can run deep-drawing grades and high-strength steels, including modern dual-phase strip. 

SMS group equipped the plant and was responsible for engineering and technology as well as electrical and automation systems. It also installed a recoiling and inspection line.

SMS group said the galvanizing line includes advanced furnace technology from Drever International, allowing for efficient production of high-strength material. It is also outfitted with a powerful rapid gas jet cooling system, SMS group said.
