MMK Starts Production of Hot Dip Galvanized DP Steel Sheet
10/27/2009 - The Coating Division of MMK has successfully started production of hot dip galvanized high-strength sheet from the HCT500X dual-phase ferrito-martensite steel grade to meet the EN 10336-2007 standard.
The Coating Division of MMK has successfully started production of hot dip galvanized high-strength sheet from the HCT500X dual-phase ferrito-martensite steel grade to meet the EN 10336-2007 standard. The sheet is 0.8 to 1.5 mm thick and 1000 to 1250 mm wide.
The HCT500X steel grade is produced at MMK to comply with specified mechanical properties: tensile strength of 330 to 355 N/mm2, yield of 535 to 555 N/mm2, and elongation of 25 to 27%). An equivalent of this steel grade, according to MMK, is an AVTOVAZ DP500 grade, TTM 1.25.1255-2007. This grade is finding wider application in the manufacture of auto body components, the company added.
The Coating Division has prepared samples of the HCT500X grade hot dip galvanized sheet to send to some automakers and auto components manufacturers—Volkwagen AG, OJSC AVTOVAZ, Benteler Automobiltechnik, and DiPOS—for approval procedures.
