MMK Taps Danieli for Reheating Furnaces
01/19/2022 - Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) has contracted Danieli Centro Combustion to supply four reheating furnaces for its flat product rolling plant #10 in Magnitogorsk, Russia, according to a press release from Danieli.
The new furnaces will replace four existing ones and will feature new-generation flameless burners, improving yield and reducing emissions. Danieli said the new furnaces will bring an energy savings of up to 15%.
According to Danieli, each furnace will have a heating capacity of 465 tons of slab per hour.
The first furnace in the €110 million project will be commissioned in 2023.
