MORE Technology Selected for Planned EAF
12/30/2019 - Italian EAF specialist MORE S.r.l. will be outfitting a new furnace in Ohio with a number of technology packages, the company has announced.
In a statement, MORE said it will equip North Star BlueScope Steel’s planned 195-ton EAF with the M-ONE chemical energy package, the MOLI pneumatic lime injection system, a Lindarc® EVO off-gas analysis system and a Zero-Men-Around robotics suite.
“The application of these innovative technological packages extends the automatic control of the EAF melting process to all operations, from charging to tapping. Minimizing power-off times, enhancing reliability and improving transformation costs,” the company said.
The new furnace is to be commissioned by the end of 2021.
