Morgan Construction Co. has received a contract from Siderúrgica Lázaro Cárdenas Las Truchas, SA de CV (Sicartsa), Mexico, for a new compactor and coil handling system.

The new equipment will be installed as an upgrade to the mill’s four-strand mill. Initially designed by Morgan in 1999, the new compactor offers the latest technology, including the company's new wire binding system.

Sicartsa’s mill has undergone several modifications since its original installation by Morgan in the mid-1970s. The latest modification was a major modernization to all of its strands, completed in 1999. Sicartsa currently produces 1800 kg coils at a rate in excess of 200 tons per hour.

Installation of the new equipment is scheduled for May 2006.
