NEMO Industries Taps Tenova as Technology Provider for Pig Iron Facility
08/04/2026 - Tenova announced it has been chosen by NEMO Industries to provide technology for its new direct reduction ENERGIRON plant in Louisiana.
The companies said the plant will be based on the ENERGIRON direct reduced iron (DRI) technology by Tenova and Danieli. The Ironworks I plant will use the ENERGIRON Zero Reformer configuration. They estimate it will produce about 2.5 million metric tons of hot and cold DRI annually.
“ENERGIRON DRI technology positions us to develop a pig iron facility that will strengthen the American steel supply chain and reduce our reliance on imported steel inputs,” said Michael DuBose, co-founder and president of NEMO Industries.
The plant will produce high-carbon DRI for Nemo Industries’ pig iron production. It will feature the HYTEMP hot DRI transport systems with the potential to integrate carbon capture solutions in the future, the companies said.
