Nippon Steel Obtains 900 Billion Yen for U. S. Steel Acquisition
03/20/2026 - Nippon Steel announced it has secured loans of 900 billion yen from the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and other Japanese lenders to go toward its acquisition of United States Steel Corporation.
Other lenders include MUFG Bank Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., Mizuho Bank Ltd. and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Ltd., the company said. The funds for the entire bridge loan were raised by the JBIC cofinancing and through various other financial transactions.
