NLMK Group Investing in New Waste Energy Recovery Power Plant
10/01/2019 - NLMK is planning to invest RUS 35 billion in the development of a new recovery power plant at NLMK Lipetsk. The power plant will run on byproduct gases from steelmaking operations.
The plant will have a capacity of 300 MW and is estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 650,000 tons per year.
Currently, NLMK Lipetsk’s energy self-sufficiency is around 64%. Once the new waste energy recovery power plant is launched, it will increase to 95%.
