Nucor Announces US$105 Million Investment to Expand Indiana Facility

The company said the upgrades will allow them to manufacture utility poles and related products that support America’s power transmission and distribution infrastructure. The expansion will add 120,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space with advanced automation, modern production equipment and manufacturing technologies.

"Utilities across the country are making significant investments to modernize the electric grid and meet growing electricity demand. By expanding our Crawfordsville operations and investing in advanced manufacturing and automation, we are strengthening our ability to serve our customers and support their long-term infrastructure needs,” said Leon Topalian, chair and chief executive officer of Nucor.

The company expects the expansion to create 100 new jobs.

"This investment will allow us to better serve our utility customers while creating high-quality jobs and supporting continued economic growth in the region,” said Laurent De Mey, vice president and general managed of Nucor Towers & Structures.
