Nucor Bar Mill Looks for Q4 Start of New Bundling Station
05/31/2023 - Nucor Corp.’s Jewett, Texas, USA, bar mill has awarded a contract to Danieli for a new bundling station, the equipment manufacturer reports.
According to Danieli, the station will feature Danieli’s DanCounter technology, which employs machine vision and artificial intelligence and eliminates the need for a conventional counting screw.
“The novelty of the new bundling station selected by Nucor Texas is its ability to count as many as four layers at a time of products up to 20 feet long,” the company said.
“Compared to a conventional solution with a counting screw, the optical bar counter does not require manual setup, thus reducing manpower and spare parts in favor of a simpler setup through a human-machine interface,” the company added.
Start-up is expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
