An audit recently took place at OJSC ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih that confirmed compliance to the international standard BS EN ISO 9001:2008.
The analysis of Quality Management System compliance included issues such as documentation and quality protocols management, the changes connecting with the personnel and the division of functional duties, and the planning targets of the system.
Auditors also executed the sample collection of reinforcing bar and took part in tests of reinforcing bar of 460B\B500B and B500C grades to the requirements of British standards BS 4449 versions 1997 and 2005.
“Confirmation of our compliance with the requirements of this standard opens up for us new markets, where consumers of metal products use British quality standards, particularly the United Arab Emirates,” said Vasiliy Kucher, the company’s Quality Director. “For us it’s a new step in confirming competitiveness of our products.”
The sample collection of reinforcing bar was executed at the small-section mill SM-250-3 of the bar-rolling shop No. 1. The samples will undergo tests in an independent laboratory in the UK. Confirmation of the audit’s results will allow including this subdivision in the certificated technological chain.
According to the results of the audit, areas for further improvement were specified in reinforcing bar, documentation management, and metrological assurance of the production. Preparation of the technological processes of milling to production is planned at the small-section mill SM-250-4 to include it into the certified chain during the next inspection audit scheduled to take place in six months.
