Olympic Steel Elects New Board Member as Longterm Director Retires
05/05/2025 - Metals service center Olympic Steel Inc. announced today that Peter J. Scott was elected to its board of directors at the company’s annual meeting following director Michael G. Rippey’s retirement after 10 years of service.
“We are pleased to have Peter’s knowledge of global markets, especially in these volatile times, and his ideas and viewpoints will add a fresh perspective in the markets we currently serve,” said Michael D. Siegal, executive chairman of Olympic Steel.
Scott founded independent investment banking firm focusing on the metals and mining industries, Headwall Partners, in 2016 and currently serves as the managing partner. He previously served as managing director and Americas head of industrials, global head of steel and metals, and Americas head of mining for Jefferies Group, LLC. He has also served as executive director and Americas head of metals at Morgan Stanley.
Rippey first joined the board in 2015 and served on the nominating and governance committee and as chairman of the audit and compliance committee during his tenure.
