A spokeswoman for the steelmaker told the local news website the company is "looking into the cause of the explosion and the necessary corrective actions will be taken to prevent a recurrence."
The spokeswoman confirmed the company was disposing of surplus iron at its Transwest facility when a steam explosion occurred and apologized for disruption that awakened local citizens.
