Outotec Recognized for Corporate Responsibility Reporting
11/11/2011 - Outotec published its first corporate responsibility report, Outotec Sustainability Report 2010, this year, and the company received an honorary mention for it in a competition evaluating the corporate responsibility reporting of Finnish companies.
Outotec published its first corporate responsibility report, Outotec Sustainability Report 2010, this year, and the company received an honorary mention for it in a competition evaluating the corporate responsibility reporting of Finnish companies. (The winner was Kesko Oyj.)
According to the jury, "The report takes well into account Outotec's own operations' as well as the industry's and the supply chain's impact also in a wider respect. Also indirect impacts of the products and services are described comprehensively. Outotec has, for example, reported its customers' estimated emission reduction through use of Outotec's products and services. The report describes also for instance sustainability drivers as well as risks and opportunities from corporate responsibility point of view."
The jury had representatives from eight organizing parties: Aalto University School of Economics, The Confederation of Finnish Industries, Finnish Business & Society, The Finnish Institute of Authorized Public Accountants, The Central Organization of Finnish Trade Unions, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, The Association for Environmental Management and Ministry of the Environment.
Altogether there were 129 listed companies and 20 other companies participating, 11 of which were selected to the final. The competition aims to examine the present state of corporate responsibility reporting and its trends. The patron of the competition was President of the Republic of Finland, Ms. Tarja Halonen.
