Paul Wurth Contracted for Blast Furnace Rebuild
03/14/2019 - Blast furnace specialist Paul Wurth has won a contract to equip a rebuilt blast furnace at a Russian steel plant.
Paul Wurth said in an announcement that it will install one of its Bell Less Top charging systems and other equipment on the No. 6 furnace at EVRAZ’s Nizhnij Tagil facility. The order also includes a complete top gas cleaning plant, copper staves and the hearth refractory lining, among other things.
Paul Wurth said the project will increase the furnace capacity by around 40%, taking it to 2.5 million metric tons annually.
