PCI Units at Russian Blast Furnace Meet Performance Expectations
11/22/2017 - New pulverized coal injection plants added to the Nos. 6 and 7 blast furnaces at NLMK Group’s Lipetsk plant in Russia have passed performance guarantee tests, the equipment supplier on the project has announced.
According to Luxembourg-based Paul Wurth, the tests confirmed pulverized coal injection rates of 160 kg/ton of hot metal. NLMK has it expects to see 30% percent reduction in coke consumption and 5% decrease in the cost of pig iron production.
