Phoenix Steel Processing Taps Red Bud for Heavy-Gauge Cut-to-Length Line

The company said the line has a coil prep station. Once prepped and the previous coil tails out, the next is automatically loaded onto the mandrel. Other features include an automatic stacker, automatic conveyors and an automatic packaging line. The line stops once a stack is completed and automatically discharged; the line restarts without operator input.

While the line is running, the stacks go to the next open conveyor, where an automatic crossbay conveyor carries them into an adjacent bay to be placed on a pallet if desired. The stacks are automatically banded and stacked on top of one another.

The line also has a T2 40-foot stretcher leveler that has Red Bud’s quick draw system. A pop top “deep plunge” straightener works with the stretcher for leveling capabilities and production of flat material that keeps its shape even after laser cutting. The line can run in start/stop or looping mode with material up to 9.5 mm. It also features a shear with quick-change blades, the company said.

The full line features a coil stage and load system, dual uncoiler, peeler breaker, pop top precision straightener, T2 40-foot stretcher leveler, dust collector, crop shear, dual direct-drive servo roll feed, shear with quick-change blades, 9 m drop stacker, stack tables, end discharge roller conveyors, crossbay traversing conveyor and an automatic packaging system.
