Surdo is succeeding Brad Taylor in both positions. During Taylor’s time at Pilbrico, he focused on meaningful transformation with customer success at the center. The company said the transition will continue the legacy of customer partnership while entering its new phase focused on growth, innovation and long-term value. 

“Plibrico’s strength has always come from listening to our customers and solving their most complex refractory challenges,” said Surdo. 

“My focus is to build on that strength by developing innovative refractory solutions, delivering technical expertise where and when it’s needed and ensuring our products and services directly improve customers operational performance,” Surdo continued. 

Surdo’s career has included positions in global manufacturing and distribution organizations. While there, he successfully led turnarounds, integrated acquisitions and implemented go-to-market strategies that expanded market share and profitability. His most recent position before joining Pilbrico was president of the Americas at Bystronic Group. He holds a B.S. degree in business administration and an M.B.A. in general management.
