Posco’s ZPSS Produces First Coil on No. 2 Cold Mill
04/18/2011 - Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel Co. Ltd. has produced its first coil product on its new No. 2 cold rolling mill.
Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel Co. Ltd. has produced its first coil product on its new No. 2 cold rolling mill. The 16-month project to build the second ZPSS cold rolling mill started on Dec. 1, 2009.
The new plant can produce 230,000 tonnes of steel products a year, mostly thick plates and wide sheet products. The first coil produced at the cold rolling mill, which was made from POSCO 304 steel, was four feet wide and weighed 20 tonnes. Now in full operation, the new production facility is expected to help ZPSS expand its sales markets and enhance competitiveness.
Staff members involved in the new cold rolling mill project, along with 250 employees of the plant, congratulated each other on the achievement.
