POSCO, JSW Steel Move Ahead With Landmark India Steel Project
04/20/2026 - POSCO announced it will move forward with JSW Steel to jointly build an integrated steel plant in Odisha, India, reported Business Korea.
The plant will have a blast furnace–based production system with an estimated capacity of 6 million metric tons annually. It will cover everything from ironmaking and steelmaking to hot rolling, cold rolling and galvanizing, Business Korea reported.
The joint venture began in 2024 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding; it went to a heads of agreement the following year. It is now in the implementation phase with the signing of the new contract. The companies estimate construction will be completed by 2031, reported Business Korea.
