Posco recently held a two-week training session at the Future Creation Academy in Pohang for QSS Leaders from overseas subsidiaries.
The participants came from five countries: Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia, Japan, and India, representing Posco-ICPC, Posco-IPPC, Posco-MKPC, Posco-JEPC, Posco-JKPC, Posco-TNPC, Posco-IJPC, and Posco-Malaysia.
Twenty QSS Leaders and three interpreters were present. The trainees took part in a number of tutorials, such as Posco’s Vision 2020, Understanding Posco’s Innovation Activities, Team Building, Role and Attitude of Improvement Leaders, Work and Waste, 5S and VM, and My Machine and DMAIC Task Methodology. After the first week of training, the group spent the weekend touring Seoul, where they visited the Posco Center, Namdaemun Market, and Myeong-dong to experience and understand Korean culture.
The training program—the first for Posco’s foreign operations this year—was led by QSS consultants who provide guidance on QSS activities for foreign subsidiaries. Posco is planning to train more overseas QSS Leaders as a means to encourage SCM and overseas bases to achieve the Global Posco Way.
