The combined blowing from top and bottom in a KOBM converter results in a better bath mixing compared to a BOF converter, the equipment supplier said in a press release. The new converter will have a shorter blowing process, improved yield and be capable of producing cleaner steel.
 
Primetals Technologies’ scope of supply included the engineering, manufacturing and supply of equipment, and a new process control system, as well as construction, start-up and commissioning services.
