Primetals Technologies Partners With VinMetal for Integrated Steel Complex
05/19/2026 - Primetals Technologies announced it has entered a partnership with VinMetal, a steel manufacturing company under Vingroup, to develop an integrated steel complex in Ha Tinh, Vietnam.
The companies said the new complex will feature two production lines which will produce long and flat steel products. The first will have a meltshop with an LD converter, a ladle furnace and vacuum treatment, billet caster, wire rod mill, and rebar mill. The other will be a meltshop with an LD converter, ladle furnace and vacuum treatment, slab caster, and a hot strip mill.
“We aim to build a large-scale, modern and digitalized steel complex that meets the highest international standards, enhancing the competitiveness and position of Vietnam’s steel industry on the global industrial map,” said Pham Nhat Quan Anh, general director of VinMetal.
Primetals Technologies said it will be the technology integrator and provide a pre-engineering package for all the equipment. The companies said they will work together on digital transformation and staff straining as well.
