Primetals Technologies Receives FAC From Rizhao Steel for Anti-Bulging System on All Five Arvedi ESP Lines
02/24/2026 - Primetals Technologies announced that Rizhao Steel has presented them with a final acceptance certificate (FAC) for the installation of the LevCon Bender Anti-Bulging system on all five of its Arvedi ESP high-speed casters.
Primetals Technologies said its system uses mold level control with the ability to adjust the roller gap in the bender for active regulation of the liquid steel volume at the top of the caster. This compensates for mold level fluctuations caused by bulging and reduces the risk of breakouts and liquid steel overflow.
The system has led to an increase in average casting speed with a throughput increase of about 7.5%. The Rizhao plant’s introduction of the technology has allowed it to move from commodity applications into quality-oriented products including grades for automotive applications. It is now used across all 10 operational Arvedi ESP lines worldwide.
Primetals Technologies and Rizhao Steel have been partners for over 10 years.
