Primetals Technologies Starts Up Continuous Casters at JSW
12/13/2021 - In October 2021, two continuous slab casters supplied by Primetals Technologies were started up at JSW Steel Ltd.’s Dovi plant in Maharashtra, India.
Primetals Technologies supplied both continuous slab casters and a hot rolling mill to JSW Steel.
The company said that both of the 2-strand casters have an annual capacity of 4.5 million metric tons, with the potential of 6 million metric tons, while the hot rolling mill has an annual capacity of 5 million metric tons per year.
With these additions to the Dovi plant from Primetals Technologies, according to a company press release JSW Steel aims to increase their production capacity to 40 million metric tons of steel per year.
