Primetals Technologies to Deliver Billet Caster and High-Speed Rebar Outlet to Jeevaka Industries
07/08/2025 - Primetals Technologies announced it has received an order from Indian steel producer Jeevaka Industries Private Ltd. for a 3-strand billet caster and a high-speed rebar outlet for its new steel mill in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Wholly owned subsidiary of Primetals Technologies, Concast India Private Ltd., will supply the billet caster. It will produce 100- to 200-mm square sections and have a dummy bar system, an individual-type ladle sequencing car handling ladles with up to 50 metric tons of liquid steel, and a diagonal up-cut type hydraulic hot billet shear.
The single-strand rebar outlet can roll about 350,000 metric tons of 8- to 40-mm rebar annually at a speed of 45 m/second. It will feature an 8-stand eDrive Morgan No-Twist mill, pre-no-twist mill shear, divide shear, Morgan water box with trough, delivery pipes, two bar-braking pinch rolls and a rotary entry system. The full mill will incorporate level 1 automation.
The company said the new equipment will enhance Jeevaka’s production capabilities and enable expansion into new Indian markets.
