Primetals Technologies to Deliver Hot-Dip Galvanizing Line for JFE Steel
11/25/2025 - Japanese steel producer JFE Steel Corp. has ordered a new continuous galvanizing line from Primetals Technologies for its West Japan Works in the Fukuyama district.
The companies said the new line’s alloying capabilities will help JFE Steel meet rising demand for ultrahigh-tensile steel sheets for use in automotive manufacturing. These sheets are used for reducing vehicle weight, meeting stricter environmental standards and enhancing collision safety standards.
Primetals Technologies said it will design and manufacture all mechanical equipment. It will also provide advisory services for installation and commissioning of the new line. The scope consists of the terminal facilities, the annealing furnace, alloying furnace, skinpass mill, sidetrimmer and loopers.
The companies said operation is scheduled to begin in October 2028.
