Primetals Technologies to Deliver Twin Vacuum Degassing Plant to TYASA
06/30/2026 - Primetals Technologies announced it will supply a twin vacuum degassing (VD) plant for Talleres y Aceros S.A. de C.V. (TYASA) to its site in Ixtaczoquitlán, Mexico.
Primetals Technologies said the scope includes mechanical equipment, a vacuum pump system, fluid and hydraulic equipment, level 1 and level 2 automation systems, electrical equipment, and advisory services for installation and commissioning. It will be dedicated to TYASA’s Castrip casting and rolling plant.
The VD plant will be operated on the same rail tracks and with the same ladle cars as the facility’s existing twin ladle furnaces which will be modified with VD tanks in the car frames. This will allow for minimal crane involvement since it no longer must be moved between the LF and VD treatment, the companies said.
The companies said start-up is scheduled for October 2027.
