Primetals Technologies Opens Brazilian Service Workshop
07/15/2025 - Primetals Technologies announced it has opened a service workshop in Santa Cruz, Brazil.
The company said the facility will have a core business of caster roll maintenance and nickel plating along with a full range of maintenance and refurbishment services. The workshop can handle maintenance work for hot and cold rolling mills and galvanizing line rollers.
“This service workshop represents a significant step forward in our commitment to supporting our customers in Brazil and beyond, in line with our motto ‘Next Level Services Now,’” said Eberhard Karnitsch-Einberger, head of global business unit metallurgical services at Primetals Technologies.
Some technologies included are laser cladding and high-velocity coating systems. It also has state-of-the-art mechatronics and a hydraulics test center. The facility can repair components for industries beyond steel as well including mining, oil and gas, wind energy and paper production.
“Our investment in advanced technologies and our strategic location underscore our dedication to supporting the growth of Brazil’s steel and industrial sectors,” said Karnitsch-Einberger.
The workshop has advanced digital tools including the maintenance and asset technology system for automated workflow, enhanced traceability and quality control. Operations are fully tracked and documented for reliable and real-time data and transparency throughout the repair process, the company said.
"Our digital ecosystem enables faster, safer and more predictable services for our customers… We are confident in our ability to help customers extend the lifetime of their equipment, reduce risks and achieve sustainable business outcomes,” said Gabriel Lenna, chief executive officer of Primetals Technologies Brazil.
The company said the workshop has already secured its first contracts for refurbishment.
