RATH Celebrates Opening of New Indian Joint Venture Plant
10/03/2025 - RATH Group, along with its Indian joint venture partner RATH Avanee Private Ltd., celebrated the official opening of its new production site in Visakhapatnam, India.
"With India’s state-of-the-art refractory plant, we are strengthening our delivery capabilities with greater production capacity and shorter lead times — a clear advantage for our customers,” said Andreas Pfneiszl, speaker of the executive board for RATH Group at the site’s opening ceremony.
The new plant began production in March 2025 with about 5,000 metric tons of fireclay produced in a bogie hearth furnace and placed on the Indian market. Another tunnel kiln was commissioned at the end of July 2025, bringing the total annual capacity to about 20,000 metric tons of refractory products, the company said.
"This facility enables us to serve the growth market of Asia — and our customers worldwide — faster, more efficiently and with greater resource efficiency, while upholding RATH’s established high quality standards,” Pfneiszl said.
The company now has eight production sites operating across Europe, the U.S., and Asia.
