Rautaruukki Continues Eastward Expansion with New Belarus Office
10/21/2008 - Rautaruukki continues its eastward expansion with the opening of its first sales office in Belarus, a further step in its strategic intent to become the industry leader in steel construction in Europe.
Rautaruukki is to open its first sales office in Belarus, bringing to 26 the number of countries in which it operates.
Ruukki’s eastward expansion is a further step in its strategic intent to become the industry leader in steel construction in Europe.
“Expansion of our sales network into Belarus will improve our customer service and provide the potential for new partnerships," said Saku Sipola, President of Ruukki Construction. “There is strong demand for new solutions and fast construction technologies, which we are now better placed to provide.”
The construction market in Belarus has been showing strong growth, with the sector growing by more than 20% in the first half of 2008, according to Finpro.
Rautaruukki supplies metal-based components, systems and integrated systems to the construction and engineering industries. The company offers a wide selection of metal products and services, has operations in 26 countries, and employs 14,990 people. Net sales in 2007 totaled EUR 3.9 billion.
