Rautaruukki Divests Color-Coating Line in Sweden
11/12/2008 - Rautaruukki sells its color-coating line in Gävle, Sweden to Trelleborg Rubore AB, also of Sweden.
Rautaruukki has sold its color-coating line in Gävle, Sweden to Trelleborg Rubore AB of Sweden.
The Gävle color-coating line makes color-coated special products primarily for the automotive industry. The 35 persons employed on the line will transfer to the service of the buyer on completion of the transaction.
The transaction is part of Ruukki's structural change and is in line with the company's strategy to divest units not forming part of its core business. The deal will have a positive impact of around EUR 2 million on earnings, which Ruukki will recognize during the fourth quarter of this year.
The transaction was completed on November 11, 2008.
Rautaruukki supplies metal-based components, systems and integrated systems to the construction and engineering industries. The company has operations in 26 countries and employs 15,000 people. Net sales in 2007 totaled EUR 3.9 billion. The corporation uses the marketing name Ruukki.
