Report: Decision on U. S. Steel Acquisition Likely to Come After Election
09/18/2024 - Nippon Steel Corp. has won permission to refile its plan for acquiring United States Steel Corporation, an action that will likely delay a decision on the merger until after the November election, reports the Bloomberg news service.
Citing unnamed sources, Bloomberg said the move is akin to resetting the clock and means that a decision from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States won’t come until after the presidential election.
