Report: Hundreds of Derivative Products Added to Section 232 Steel, Aluminum Tariffs

The U.S. Commerce Department issued a notice that the Bureau of Industry and Security has added 407 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTSUS) codes to the list of products that will be considered as steel or aluminum derivate products.

For these products, the tariffs based on Section 232 will apply to the steel and aluminum content. The non-steel and non-aluminum content of those products will remain subject to the reciprocal and other applicable tariffs, according to the notice.

The expanded list of products subject to the levies went into effect on 18 August.
