Report: Nippon Steel Proposes Even Greater U. S. Steel Mill Investments
05/20/2025 - Nippon Steel Corp. would invest US$10 billion in United States Steel Corporation and build a greenfield mill if it wins approval to acquire the company, reports the Reuters news service.
Citing unidentified sources as well as a document it viewed, Reuters said Nippon would invest US$10 billion in U. S. Steel’s operations through 2028, plus put US$1 billion toward a greenfield mill. The mill investment would grow by an additional US$3 billion in ensuing years, Reuters said.
