Report: The Title of World’s Largest Steelmaker Now Belongs to Baowu Steel
04/28/2020 - The Nikkei Asian Review is calling it: Baowu Steel Group in 2019 unseated ArcelorMittal as the world’s largest steelmaker.
According to the publication, Baowu moved into the No. 1 position after taking over China's Magang (Group) Holding last fall, the country’s No. 9 producer. Nikkei said its declaration is based on publicly available data, but didn’t specify the source.
