Report: U.K. Hopes to Create Western Steel Alliance
10/27/2025 - The United Kingdom is hoping to persuade the European Union to form a steel alliance and perhaps bring along the United States, Politico reports.
According to Politico, the U.K. is looking to build a coalition to “align tariff policies and grant members preferential tariffs on steel trade.” The effort comes as the EU moved to impose a 50% tariff on steel imports, a measure that the U.K. is wanting to be exempted from.
