Ruukki Expands into Turkey
11/06/2009 - Ruukki is to open its first sales office in Turkey, resulting in improved customer service and shortened delivery times. The company now has operations in 27 countries.
Ruukki is to open its first sales office in Turkey, which will enable it to improve the quality of its customer service and shorten delivery times, according to the company. Ruukki now has operations in 27 countries.
The company says that the expansion brings it closer to its strategic intent of becoming one of Europe’s leading providers of special steel products.
"The dynamic Turkish market, which includes much industrial production, is an interesting one and we consider the market has strong potential for our special steel products,” said Kari Lehtinen, Senior Vice President Sales, Ruukki Metals. “The opening of our new sales office not only brings us within closer reach of existing and new customers, but also supports Ruukki's strategy to extend its customer base for special steel products in Europe."
Rautaruukki, which uses the marketing name Ruukki, supplies metal-based components, systems, and integrated systems to the construction and engineering industries. The company has a wide selection of metal products and services. It now has operations in 27 countries and employs 12,200 people. Net sales in 2008 totaled EUR 3.9 billion.
