SAIL Signs MOU with BITS-Pilani

11/09/2009 - Steel Authority of India Ltd. signs a memorandum of understanding with Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, focusing on the collaboration between the two institutions to promote academic and research interactions.

Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, focusing on the collaboration between the two institutions to promote academic and research interactions.
 
Under the MOU, SAIL will provide opportunities for BITS students to gain practical knowledge through on-the-job exposure and real-life problems being faced at the workplace in the form of projects. In return, BITS will help to provide SAIL employees with educational opportunities through customized programs in disciplines that are most relevant to SAIL through Work Integrated Learning Programs. BITS will also invite experts in SAIL to share their experiences with the students of its regular and executive programs.
 
The MOU was signed by S.P. Patnaik, Executive Director (Human Resource Development), Management Training Institute, SAIL, and Prof. G. Sundar, Dean, Practice School Division, BITS, in the presence of SAIL Director (Personnel) G. Ojha.
 
SAIL’s Management Training Institute earlier has entered into MOUs with IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM-Indore, MDI-Gurgaon, ISMU-Dhanbad, SKF Bearings Ltd., Siemens Ltd., and Bosch Rexroth.
