Sandvik Announces New Leadership
04/27/2026 - Sandvik announced it has appointed Patrick Murphy as president of business area mining and a member of the Sandvik Group executive management, effective 1 July 2026.
“Patrick Murphy is an experienced international leader with a strong track record and proven leadership skills from his previous roles within Sandvik,” said Stefan Widing, president and chief executive officer of Sandvik.
Murphy joined the company in 2001, having worked in the mining business area in Canada, Australia, India, Finland and the U.S. He currently serves as president of the rotary drilling division within mining. Before that, he led the underground drilling division and the rock drills and technologies division.
“With his extensive knowledge of Sandvik and deep mining industry expertise, I’m confident that he will be a great president of the mining business area," Widing continued.
Murphy succeeds Mats Eriksson, who is stepping down before his planned 2027 retirement, the company said.
