Sandvik to Deliver Major Mining Equipment to Zimplats
09/23/2025 - Zimbabwean platinum group metals producer Zimplats has placed an order with Sandvik for major underground mining equipment for use at the Ngezi mines complex.
Sandvik said the scope of supply includes underground loaders, trucks and drills. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025 and continue until the second quarter of 2026.
“This order reflects our strong commitment to providing equipment and services that help our customers achieve their productivity, safety, and sustainability targets,” said Mats Eriksson, president of business area mining at Sandvik.
Zimplats said the deal will bring significant aftermarket value as it continues to make substantial investments in expanding the underground mining capacity at Ngezi.
