Branded as EDGE and BIOEDGE, these steels are produced in electric arc furnaces (EAFs) and paired with Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates or emission-free nuclear energy certificates, significantly reducing Scope 2 emissions.

BIOEDGE steels incorporate biocarbon sourced from the company’s new joint-venture biocarbon facility in Mississippi. 

The EDGE family of steel products will be available across Steel Dynamics’ operations, and SDI said it is anticipating strong interest from customers in the automotive, construction, renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
