SDI Reaches Agreement on Wastewater Permit Objections
03/25/2021 - Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) and an environmental group have reached a deal that should lead to approval of a wastewater discharge permit for the steelmaker’s under-construction flat-rolled mill in Texas, reports the Bloomberg news service.
According to Bloomberg, SDI has agreed to build a constructed wetland to filter the plant’s wastewater beyond the requirements in its environmental permit, resolving concerns about potential damage to whooping crane habitat.
