In a statement, SDI said Bell will succeed Miguel Alvarez, who will be taking the reins of the company’s new aluminum flat-rolled business.

As vice president of metals recycling and the president of OmniSource, Bell will assume responsibility and oversight for the company's metals recycling platform. He currently is an OmniSource vice president, responsible for developing and implementing its ferrous purchasing and sales growth strategies, including optimizing the scrap supply for the company's steel operations.
