Service Center Expands Capabilities With New Plate Processing System
09/11/2015 - Alaska's largest steel service center and processor has acquired a new plate cutting system, allowing it to keep in-house projects that it otherwise would have had to outsource to the lower 48 states.
STEELFAB told the Anchorage Daily News that the new system, a Messer MPC2000, is capable of processing plate up to 3 inches thick, 17 feet wide and 55 feet long. The system is equipped with drilling capabilities.
Anchorage-based STEELFAB primarily serves the oil and gas, mining and heavy construction industries.
