Service Center Starts Red Bud-Built Stretcher-Leveler
04/03/2024 - Flat-rolled service center Taylor Steel Inc. recently installed a Red Bud Industries stretcher-leveler at its Stoney Creek, Ont., Canada, location, the equipment supplier reports.
According to Red Bud, the machine can process 75-inch by 40-foot sheets in thicknesses of 0.625 inch.
“This project is part of a significant upgrade in leveling capability,” the company said, adding that the machine features a short cycle time and direct clamp design with long-lasting metallic gripper pads. It also includes a rotating brush dust collector and vacuum system that will further enhance finished product quality.
“The new stretcher-leveler will produce the flattest, most stable material possible despite incoming shape defects. The result is a flat product that will stay flat making it particularly well suited for laser cutting applications,” Red Bud said.
