Severstal Lights Danieli-Built Blast Furnace

02/04/2021 - Russian steelmaker Severstal has successfully commissioned a rebuilt blast furnace at its Cherepovets mill, according to the project contractor.

In a statement, Danieli said the new No. 3 furnace replaces a unit that was dismantled in 2007. The new furnace has a working volume of a 3,290 m³ and is equipped with a Hoogovens cooling and lining system.

Danieli said the furnace was commissioned on schedule.
