Shougang Cold Rolling Selects Primetals Technologies to Upgrade PLTCM
06/03/2026 - Primetals Technologies announced it will modernize the automation systems at Shougang Group subsidiary, Shougang Cold Rolling Co. Ltd.’s pickling line tandem cold mill (PLTCM) in Shunyi, China.
Upgrades to the basic and process automation systems are expected to extend the life of the mill’s control systems, simplify maintenance and lower operating costs. The process automation system upgrade will allow for advanced process models and better data management, the companies said.
The upgrades are expected to support production of cold-rolled steel for automotives and home appliances.
Primetals Technologies said it will also modernize one of the PLTCM’s drives.
The companies said completion is scheduled for August 2026.
