Shougang Jingtang Taps Primetals Technologies for Slab Caster Upgrade
10/29/2026 - Primetals Technologies announced it has been chosen to upgrade Shougang Jingtang’s 2-strand slab caster No. 2 at its plant in Caofeidian, China.
Shougang Jingtang said the upgrades will improve quality of cast slabs for better rolling results and allow it to use the DynaGap Soft Reduction control system. It will also allow for faster casting speeds and productivity.
The scope of supply also includes the new LevCon system and new strand guide with dry-casting capability. All segments will have EcoStar Spiral rolls for strong stand support and dry casting in the horizontal area. Primetals Technologies said it will also supply new level 1 and 2 automation systems including DynaPhase, Dynacs 3D and DynaGap 3D.
Commissioning is scheduled for September 2027, the companies said.
