SMS group to Provide Transnational Networking Solution for SSAB
08/27/2021 - Swedish steel producer SSAB has tapped SMS digital with providing a network of digital solutions to better facilitate the exchange of data between its facilities in Finland and Sweden, according to SMS group.
SMS group’s cloud-based SMS DataFactory will provide an improved flow of information across SSAB’s sites in Luleå and Borlänge in Sweden and Raahe and Hämeenlinna in Finland, the equipment supplier said in a statement.
“To make our complex production lines ‘digital ready,’ we need a deep understanding of all plants and processes in addition to comprehensive IT know-how. With SMS, we selected a strong partner who has a deep understanding of both sides,” said Sakari Pahkala, head of strategic automation and digitalization development at SSAB Europe.
